People of Process Management
"Times have changed, and business process management is changing as well. There are a number of reasons for this sentiment ranging from the growing digitalization of our organizations to the retirement of the Baby Boomers. However, one thing is very clear: process management is more important than ever and its role and the people who work within it are evolving.APQC is conducting a research project to explore the people that support process management work; understand the demographics, skillset, and education of today's process workers, and look at reporting structures, responsibilities, and career advancement in the process field. If you're interested in participating, contact Holly Lyke-Ho-Gland.
Delivering an Engaging Employee Experience
When unemployment is low and in-demand skills are scarce, engaging employees rises to the top of corporate priorities, becoming a key strategy for attracting and retaining business-critical talent. Indeed, employees who are engaged in their work are more likely to exhibit attitudes and behaviors that benefit the organization. And, having a more engaged workforce has been associated with increased revenue and greater shareholder returns.
In recent years, however, a new approach to fostering employee engagement—called the employee experience—has emerged. The thinking is that when interactions or experiences at work consistently yield positive feelings, these feelings will in turn yield positive attitudes and desirable behaviors.
This APQC study will collect information on the practices that organizations are using to foster employee engagement and the outcomes that organizations are realizing as a result. It will look at the extent to which the employee experience is being used to drive employee engagement and to what effect. Contact Elissa Tucker if you would like to learn more.
